Highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant! FOOD: 10/10. I got a kofta kabab plate and everything on it was excellent. The portions and flatbread were nice and large! SERVICE: The service was quick and friendly. When we were checking out, I ordered an ice cream and the employee offered me and my friend double scoops on the house! PARKING: The location is in a plaza with a good-sized parking lot.

Usta Kababgy offers an exceptional dining experience with its all-halal barbecue. The quality of the food is commendable, with a wide variety of options to cater to vegetarian guests, ensuring everyone finds something to enjoy. The service was prompt and courteous, contributing to a pleasant visit. The pricing is fair, reflecting the good quality of the dishes served. However, the interior could benefit from a bit of reorganization to enhance the overall dining atmosphere. Despite this minor issue, Usta Kababgy remains a great choice for delicious halal barbecue and vegetarian meals.

Some of the best kebab I've had in Austin, honestly. There's a bit of quirkiness to the place (for example, I don't think my menu had all the pages in it compared to the menu my friend had). Still, totally delicious. I played it safe with my order this time, but next time, I'd love to try one of the more fusion-leaning dishes.

Their lentil soup is delicious! It is a bit grainy texture, but the flavoring is all there. I also tried their baba ganoush. It was good too, but it a bit more on the sour side. I got their mixed kebab so beef and chicken kebab. I also tried their chicken tikka too. The beef one was the best. The chicken kebab wasn't flavorful. For those dishes, I wish they added more meat on it.

Stumbled upon this gem through some other reviews on yelp and definitely agree that the food is delicious! I had been looking for a Mediterranean restaurant that serves authentic zatar bread in Austin and this one fits the bill! The zatar flatbread is absolutely perfect. Chicken kebabs and falafels were also cooked very well and seasoned. The falafel wrap bread was thinner and different from the zatar flatbread and I didn't like it as much. They don't provide water unless you ask. Other than that, service was quick and friendly. The restaurant also had a Mexican bakery on one side so ambience is not the best but food more than makes up for it.

I'm so glad to finally have tried Usta Kababgy after having it bookmarked for a while! It's now one of my favorite places and I'm already looking forward to returning after just getting takeout yesterday. I ordered the Kabab Iraqi, Kabab Adana, and the Zaatar and cheese flatbread to go. Both the lamb and beef was well seasoned and had the right amount of char from the charcoal grill, packed full of flavor while not being dry at all. The rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The veggies included were fresh, the yogurt sauce was deliciously garlicky, and the hummus went well with everything. The size of the bread we ordered on the side was massive (almost the size of a pizza!) which I was very happy about. It's always a bummer when there isn't nearly enough bread when you order, and for once I was pleasantly surprised to have an amount of bread I'm actually content with. Everything was so delicious! But if I had to absolutely pick, the Zaatar and feta cheese flatbread was my favorite from my order. The earthy nutty flavor of Zaatar on the pillowy flatbread was incredible, and the tang from the melted feta cheese blended so well with the flavors. I could honestly eat so many of these since it was so good, but I was already stuffed. I still can't believe it took me this long to check this place out, and I will gladly come back!

Superb experience overall. We ordered the family platter (12 mixed kabobs). There were 2 different chicken, 2 different lamb, 2 different beef. They were all excellent. You can to mix and match how you want but I highly recommend getting them the way they came as a variety. They put soft fresh pita bread as the base and out the hot kabobs on top. It makes the bread extra delicious. The platter also had grilled onions and tomatoes. The meal came with 4 cold appetizers. We chose 1 hummus, 2 baba ganoush, and one yogurt cucumber dip. It also came with amazing garlic sauce (I'll order extra next time), tahini and 2 spicy sauces. It was a spread! I requested part rice and part bread since we have one GF person and they were able to accommodate. They were kind, thoughtful, helpful and the food was superb. I will use them to cater a party the next time I have one.
